💠 Salaam Cultural Center - Middle East and North Africa 💠

Salaam Center, the first cultural hub focused on the Middle East within a U.S. academic institution, was established in 2023 through the dedicated efforts of the Iranian Heritage Foundation as one of its key founding entities.

The Iranian Heritage Foundation, building on the legacy of Iranian student associations at UIUC since 1961, strives to promote Iranian culture and, with the support of Salaam Cultural Center, forge stronger connections between communities. IHF takes pride in creating an environment that brings diverse cultures closer.

On behalf of the Iranian community, IHF has donated a valuable handmade Iranian Bakhtiari carpet to the center. Additionally, by adorning the center with traditional Iranian handicrafts, we try to infusing the space with an authentic touch.

Stay tuned for more details about the grand opening celebration of this center on November 9th.

💠معرفی مرکز فرهنگی سلام - خاورمیانه و شمال آفریقا 💠

مرکز‌ فرهنگی سلام، اولین مرکز‌فرهنگی با محوریت خاورمیانه در یک مرکز دانشگاهی در‌ ایالات متحده، در سال ۲۰۲۳ با تلاش بنیاد میراث ایران به عنوان یکی از اعضای اصلی بنیان گذار این مرکز، تاسیس شده است.

بنیاد میراث ایران به عنوان ادامه دهنده مسیر انجمن های دانشجویی ایرانیان در دانشگاه ایلینوی از سال ۱۹۶۱، تلاش می‌کند تا فرهنگ ایرانی را ترویج دهد و از این پس با کمک مرکز فرهنگی سلام پلی قوی‌تر بین جوامع بسازد. این بنیاد مفتخر است که محیطی را فراهم کرده که با برگزاری فعالیت‌های فرهنگی و سرگرم‌کننده، فرهنگ‌های مختلف را به هم نزدیک‌تر می‌کند و از همکاری بیشتر با مرکز فرهنگی سلام پشتیبانی می‌کند.

در این راستا، به نمایندگی از جامعه ایرانی، این بنیاد یک فرش دستبافت بختیاری ایرانی گرانبها را به مرکز فرهنگی سلام اهدا کرده و همچنین با تزئین مرکز با صنایع دستی سنتی ایرانی، به این مرکز کمک کرده تا لمسی از اصالت به این فضا بیفزاید.

IHF PS5 FIFA Tournament

Dear friends,

I hope you're doing well and ready to start on an exciting journey into FIFA on PS5. It's finally time to kick off our tournament, and the IHF team couldn't be more thrilled! This tournament aims to provide a much-needed break from our hectic school routines, allowing us to unwind and recharge our energy.

Our games are set to take place at the SALAAM center every three weeks for approximately 3 hours. To ensure a smooth start and enjoyable experience, we ask that participants arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled games. Of course, you are welcome to join us for the entire duration if you so desire.

To determine the best time for our games, please take a moment to fill out the following When2Meet link with your preferred time slots. Your input will help us figure out the schedule for the tournament, which is set to begin next week. We will send out another update before our first game night, during which we will gather to schedule matches, select teams, and, most importantly, share some fun moments.

💠 Our first matches are scheduled for this Friday, October 20, at the SALAAM center from 4:30 PM to 7 PM.

IHF invites all students interested in participating in the tournament to fill out the registration form below, providing their contact information and listing four preferred teams.

❗️While each participant will be assigned one team for the tournament, we request four preferences in case of team duplicates. We will conduct a lottery draw on Friday to determine teams and groups. The deadline for submitting the form is Friday at 12 PM.

‼️Your presence on Friday, October 20, at around 4:30 PM is essential; otherwise, a team will be randomly assigned to you.
