We use following terms:
LONG : We are expecting price to go up, so BUY at recommend price.
SELL : Cover or close LONG position at recommended price or market price.
SHORT : We are expecting price to go down, SO SELL at recommended price.
BUY : Cover or close SHORT position at recommended price or market price.
LONG : We are expecting price to go up, so BUY at recommend price.
SELL : Cover or close LONG position at recommended price or market price.
SHORT : We are expecting price to go down, SO SELL at recommended price.
BUY : Cover or close SHORT position at recommended price or market price.
LONG means we are expecting price will go up so we buy at the recommended price, and we SELL when price hit target. Similarly when we expect price will go down we write SHORT and price where we SELL ... similarly when price hit profit we BUY.
In above trade we bought ES or MES at 4319 and sold at 4324 with profit of 5 points. If you played one contract or share you made 250 dollar because each point is 50 dollar. If you played MES you made 25 dollar because each MES point is 5 dollar.
Made 2 points above by going LONG (buying) at 4305 and SELL (selling) at 4307
