Psalms 9:18-20
For the needy shall not always be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever. 19. Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in your sight. 20. Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.

Psalms 10:1-2
Why stand you afar off, O LORD? why hide you yourself in times of trouble? 2. The wicked in his pride does persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

[Christ] did not want to appear in angelic beauty, or in royal power, or in luxurious wealth. He who enters a house of sorrow does not dress in the most beautiful clothes, nor does a doctor dress in his best clothes when he visits the gravely ill. In coming to earth, the Lord entered a house of sorrow; he entered a hospital. The body is the garment of the soul. He dressed in a simple garment to impress us by the power of His spirit, not by His dress.

Psalms 10:3-5
For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire, and blesses the covetous, whom the LORD abhors. 4. The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. 5. His ways are always grievous; your judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffs at them.

St. Theophan the Recluse explains how one may stay in touch with God through the whole day.
1) during the course of the day, cry out to God more often, even if only with a few words, according to need and the work of the day.
2) Beginning anything, for example, say ‘Bless, O Lord!’ When you finish something, say, ‘Glory to Thee, O Lord’, and not only with your lips, but with feeling in your heart.
3) If passions arise, say, ‘Save me, O Lord, I am perishing.’
4) If the darkness of disturbing thoughts comes up, cry out: ‘Lead my soul out of prison.’
5) If dishonest deeds present themselves and sin leads you to them, pray, ‘Set me, O Lord, in the way’, or ‘do not give up my feet to stumbling.’
6) If sin takes hold of you and leads you to despair, cry out with the voice of the publican, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner.’ Do this in every circumstance, or simply say often, ‘Lord, have mercy’, ‘Most Holy Theotokos save us”, ‘Holy Angel, my guardian, protect me’, or other such words.

Let us understand the kind of faith that leads to miracles
Psalms 10:6-7
He has said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity. 7. His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

Psalms 10:8-9
He sits in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places does he murder the innocent: his eyes are privately set against the poor. 9. He lies in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lies in wait to catch the poor: he does catch the poor, when he draws him into his net.

Today the grace of the Holy Spirit has gathered us together, and taking up the Cross we all say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!’

Excerpt from St. Andrew of Crete's Homily on Palm Sunday
"Let us go together to meet Christ on the Mount of Olives. Today he returns from Bethany and proceeds of his own free will toward his holy and blessed passion, to consummate the mystery of our salvation. He who came down from heaven to raise us from the depths of sin, to raise us with himself, we are told in Scripture, above every sovereignty, authority and power, and every other name that can be named, now comes of his own free will to make his journey to Jerusalem. He comes without pomp or ostentation. As the psalmist says: He will not dispute or raise his voice to make it heard in the streets. He will be meek and humble, and he will make his entry in simplicity... 🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴
