1 John 3:10
In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. 11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous.

1 Corinthians 14:20
20 Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature.

* How could God command the killing of the Canaanites? is a question non believers ask regarding God's judgement and how just He is. Also, what kind of God would kill an entire people? Is sin inherited?
Short answers: Sin is taught / passed down (at least in this example)
and God does Judge and punish and but He is indeed patient *

Revelation 2:9
“I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. 10 Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Ephesians 4:4
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

1 Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. 17 For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

Galatians 6:7
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

There are many modern english and other language translations to the Bible.
They are all corrupted.
If you are looking for the real bible, make sure that it is of the original *septuagint* translation (the original one done by 70 Jewish scholars) Yes that is mainly for the old testament.
The new Testament is fully based on realzing the prophecies of the Old.
Jesus' deity is very clear in both prophecies.
All other Modern Bibles that are not based on the original text are to be considered corrupt.
In English you should use the *King James Translation*
God has already warned us of such things

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
