The Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God in Harbin, China.
Fr. Shi, whose family is Buddhist, converted to Orthodoxy while studying in Russia in the 1990s.
Ordained in 2018, he is the first Orthodox priest ordained in China since 1951.
His parish is around 60 worshippers — around half Chinese and the rest Russian expatriates.
Due to government demands, it is the only Orthodox Church open to Chinese nationals for regular worship.
Since the ordination of Fr Aleksandr Yu Shi in 2018, the parish has Divine Liturgy every Sunday.
