From the ancient city of Damascus, along the Straight Street where Saint Paul once walked, Syrian protesters continue to stand against the foreign fighters affiliated with HTS. They are demanding their expulsion from Christian towns. Chanting:
‘We are your men, Jesus Christ. We are your men, Jesus Christ. With my blood and soul, I sacrifice for my cross."

Syrians, despite the deadly threat posed by the armed militants who have seized the country, are taking to the streets of Damascus, demonstrating to defend their faith chanting "raise the Cross higher."

Syria declares Christmas holidays amid protests over oppression of Christians

Authorities in Syria have declared December 25 and 26 official holidays for state employees to coincide with Catholic Christmas celebrations. But essential government services will continue.

The decision follows peaceful protests in Damascus and nearby Christian neighborhoods over the oppression of Christians in Syria. The protests were sparked by the burning of a Christmas tree in Suqaylabiyah, a Christian-majority town in Hama, by foreign mercenaries.

Local authorities have arrested the perpetrators and promised to punish them.
