Good reflection and statement:
More than anyone, I pray for the Orthodox Christians in Palestine.
The inheritors of the true Israel.
The people who believed in the fulfillment of Judaism with Christ the Messiah.
That established the Church in Jerusalem after the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Christ while Judaism went into irrelevance for hundreds of years.
That had their land sieged by Muslim conquests in the 600's.
That had their Patriarch expelled by Roman Catholic crusades in the 1100's.
That had their land taken from them again by Jewish settlers post-WW2 who were backed by American and British protestants with a terrible theological understanding of the place of Israel and the Jewish people in Christian eschatology.
That now are forced to live as minorities between two people groups, Jews and Muslims, that both equally hate and disdain them.
Yea, it's those people that I'm praying for.

People often do not understand what salvation means, what the Kingdom of God, Heaven mean. That is why such questions as “why just good people don’t go to Heaven” or “I am good enough , I don’t need Church and repentance” arise.
ST. IGNATIUS BRIANCHANINOV explains
“Salvation consists in the restoration of our communion with God.
Unhappy is he who is satisfied with his own human righteousness, for he does not need Christ, Who says of Himself: I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance (Mt. 9:13).”
Obviously we can’t restore our communion with God without God.

The parable of the tax collector and the Pharisee is found in the Gospel of Luke in chapter 18 in lines 9-14 and teaches mainly about humble prayer and the avoidance of pride.
How God saves him who is aware of his sin and invokes His mercy.
And that he who considers himself better than others is not saved and for this reason he considers God obliged to save him.
God is not obliged to save one who does not realize that he needs salvation.
